About ACSO

The Association of California Symphony Orchestras (ACSO) is the voice, the network, and the forum for the orchestra community in California and the West.

Founded in 1969, we serve over 130 organizations and their 2,500+ board, staff, musicians, and volunteers. ACSO’s members are comprised of professional, collegiate, youth, and community-based orchestras and music ensembles, choruses, festivals, and aligned businesses and individuals.

ACSO is governed by a Board of Directors who hail from arts organizations throughout the state of California. ACSO's headquarters are in Los Angeles and staff are based in Los Angeles and Sacramento.

  • Advocacy: ACSO represents and gives voice to the needs of orchestras and music organizations at the state and federal levels.
  • Professional Development: ACSO's Annual Conference, regional forums and confabs, and online learning programs offer unparalleled opportunities to learn from top professionals and network with peers.
  • Capacity Building: Professional assistance is available through our digital resource library and customized research and support provided by ACSO staff.
  • Networking and Co-Learning: With ACSO, you become part of an inclusive community of colleagues who understand your needs and commitment to the performing arts.
